About The H.E.A.R.T. Market
The H.E.A.R.T. Market is a socially-responsible flea market collaboration between Calamine Solutions and Sculpture Square Ltd. It is held at Sculpture Square on Every 2nd Weekend of the Month!! H.E.A.R.T. is short for "Handicrafters, Entrepreneurs, Artists and Retail Talents".

Social Objectives - Promoting Youth Entrepreneurship and Charities
Its main objectives are to promote youth entrepreneurship and charitable organisations seeking to venture into social entrepreneurship. Through this unique blend, young entrepreneurs are constantly reminded to be socially responsible in their business strategies, and are exposed to a meaningful learning experience.

We work closely with many charitable organisations to raise awareness for their causes and also to assist them in raising funds through their stalls. If you are a charitable organisation looking for collaborations, please feel free to
contact us.

Call For Sponsors and Volunteers

The H.E.A.R.T. Market is a meaningful event. Our dream is for The H.E.A.R.T. Market to be run by charities, for charities. This cannot be achieved without financial sponsorships and a large team of volunteers. Student volunteers under the age of 21 are most welcome to come and volunteer with us. Some possible roles include assistance of manning of charity booths, translation of spoken languages to written words/ sign language, and publicity awareness.
If you wish to sponsor us, or volunteer with us, please feel free to contact ryan@calaminesolutions.com.

This Month, we are featuring a team of JC students from Saint Andrew's Junior College and Jurong Junior College, who are currently involved in a Fund raising Project (Project Vibrant Colour 2) under the Student Volunteer Corps. In their project, they have picked our beneficiary as Chen San Lu Methodist Children's Home. The Residential Home provides care, protection and shelter to children aged from 5 to 16 years of age. These children come from needy families (either low income families or single parent), or families in which parents are unable to take care of them.
The items that they are selling to raise funds include soft toys and stationeries, which are provided by the home itself ; and consignment goods provided by a friend (hand-painted t-shirts and hand-made costume jewelry).

(2 April 2009) - Muslim Kidney Action Association (MKAC) is joining the MAY H.E.A.R.T. Market!!

The Muslim Kidney Action Association (MKAC) will be showcasing the handmade items made by their members. With this collaboration, MKAC wishes to improve the livelihoods of their supported patients and increase awareness in social entrepreneurship. Please come to May's H.E.A.R.T. Market to support them and check out their exquisite hand-made items! For more information about MKAC, please visit:  www.mkacassociation.org

(9 March 2009)- We will also be featuring Friends of the Disabled Society!

Friends of the Disabled Society will be joining us on 14-15 March 2009.  It is the goal of Calamine Solutions to complement their Skills Enrichment Program, which provides an avenue for the disabled Friends to equip themselves with skills in handicraft and jewelry-making while interacting with able-bodied volunteers. The disabled are also encouraged to harness entrepreneurial skills through being engaged in authorized public sales. This helps boost their confidence, taps on their creativity and at the same time endows them with practical skills that teach them how to be self-sufficient.
